As part of HMS Fearless Foxtrot 4 and her crew made up one of the four LCU's that were carried in the Dry Dock at the rear of HMS Fearless. These four craft were the true work horses when it came to any landings as they could carry even main battle tanks or 100 troops. All the landing craft were the true work horses of the war with basic navigation they would make journeys many would shy away from today with modern Satellite Navigation.
In total there were eight LCU's and eight LCVP's four of each on the sister ships HMS Fearless and Intrepid. Other than the clandestine insertions of Special Forces the landing craft would land the main forces on the first day with early morning landings before daylight.
